This is How I Met My K-Drama, the podcast about K-drama origin stories and recommendations. I'm Sarah Rosette, and this is the trailer episode. So, first I'll tell you a little bit about me. In my day job, I'm a full-time mystery novelist. I write 1920s Country House Mysteries, which are basically Who Done It's. They're Downton Abbey meets Miss Fisher type of stories. By night, I'm either reading a mystery or staying up way past my bedtime to watch Korean dramas. Now, staying up late is nothing new for me. I've always been a night owl. I love reading late. And I've recently added Korean dramas to the things that I love to do for relaxing. So that's a little bit about me. Here's some details about the podcast. Every K-drama viewer has an origin story and recommendations. And we're all either interested in giving recommendations or looking for recommendations of what to watch next. But a lot of us don't know anyone in real life to talk to about the awesomeness of K-dramas. K-drama is a very narrow niche, but it's deep. Once you find other people to talk to about K-drama, there's a lot to say. But finding those people can be hard. And that's basically the origin story of this podcast. It's a place where watchers of K-dramas can share how they found thramas and their favorite shows. And I'm not a hugely experienced K-drama watcher. I've been watching for quite a while and I have watched a lot. There are people who have watched way more than me, but I can provide a place where K-drama viewers can connect with other people and we can talk about K-dramas. So that's basically the purpose of the show and why I started it. The format will be in seasons. It has to be in seasons because doing a podcast is super time consuming, and I really do have to continue writing novels. The first season, some of the guests are writers because my circle of friends includes a lot of writers. So when I said, hey, I'm going to do this podcast, is anyone interested? It was easy to get a couple people who immediately said yes because they wanted to talk about K-dramas too. And they happen to be writers. But I want to talk to K-drama viewers of all backgrounds in an all-day jobs. As the seasons go on, I will probably have a different mix. Just know that it always won't be writers talking about K-dramas. Now, a note on spoilers. The interview episodes will have spoilers. Since we don't often have the ability to chat about K-dramas, I want the guest I talk to to be able to share about their love of K-dramas without any restrictions. I will have a list of shows discussed, and that will be in the show notes so you can avoid spoilers. But just know that if somebody comes on the podcast, we are going to talk about whatever they want to talk about in whatever depth they want to talk about. I will also have some non-spoiler episodes, and those will be roundups focused on a single topic. It might be a trope, a theme, an actor, a genre, something like that. And I also have a few burning topics about K-drama that I'd like to explore, things I've noticed, and they're it's they're too long for a social media post, but they would be about right for a short podcast episode. So there will be some of those. Those probably will also have spoilers. I will label everything in the show notes, so just be aware of that. If you're trying to avoid spoilers, just know to check the show notes. And if you're okay with spoilers, most of these I think will probably be more surface spoilers, not super in-depth spoilers, but just be aware of that. So I'm recording this on January 1st, which is a good day to start something new, January 1st, 2025. And the first episodes will come out soon. I'm planning on a mid to late January release date for the first episode. So subscribe or follow so you get those episodes so you don't miss them.
